Hardware requirements

  1. Entry level server dedicated to NEOSYS
  2. 1 GB RAM
  3. 80 GB HDD
  4. No RAID

Software requirements

  1. Windows 2008 Standard Edition preferred. Windows 2003 Standard Edition could be used, but not advised. Must be 32bit. Cannot be 64bit/R2.
  2. Administrator Access Rights
  3. Configured with two partitions on the hard disk (C & D)
  4. Configured as a workgroup and not as part of a domain
  5. No roles assigned for the server (eg DNS or DHCP or FILE SERVER)
  6. All service packs and updates applied (except no IE7 & IE8 incase of Windows 2003)
  7. No Anti-Virus or any other program loaded
  8. Copy the Windows CD or i386 folder to the C Drive
  9. Configured with an internal static IP (ie dynamic IP delivered by DHCP is not allowed)

NEOSYS Software Browser and OS Requirements

NEOSYS Software is currently supported on the following Operating Systems (OS) and browsers:

  • For Media & Finance modules, Internet Explorer 6+ on Windows
  • For Jobs & Timesheets modules, Internet Explorer 6+ on Windows or Safari 5.0 or Firefox on Mac

Browsers must have pop-up blockers turned off and must not have any 3rd party toolbars installed.

Backup requirements

  1. 3 x 4 GB USB drives for backup
  2. Someone to change the USB drives on a scheduled basis (weekly or daily)

Router requirements

  1. Username and password for the router / or someone who can configure port forwarding / virtual server configuration for SSH on port 19580.
  2. Outgoing access to the internet on port 2500 OR access to send email via an internal email server.
