Hardware requirements
- Entry level server computer
- 1 GB RAM
- 80 GB HDD
Software requirements
- Windows 2003 or 2008 Standard Edition 32bit (not 64bit)
- Installed as a workgroup and not as part of a domain
- DO NOT assign any roles for the server (eg DNS or DHCP or FILE SERVER) – just deliver the server AS IT IS
- All service packs and updates applied (except IE7)
- No Anti-Virus or any other program loaded
- Copy the Windows CD or I386 folder to the C Drive
For single user installations:
- Windows XP Professional 32bit
- Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
- Windows 7 Professional 32bit
Installation requirements
- Two partitions on the hard disk (C & D)
Backup requirements
- 3 x 1 GB USB drives for backup
Router requirements
- Username and password for the router / or someone who can configure port forwarding / virtual server configuration
