Hardware requirements

  1. Entry level server computer
  2. 1 GB RAM
  3. 80 GB HDD

Software requirements

  1. Windows 2003 Standard Edition installed as a workgroup and not as part of a domain
  2. DO NOT assign any roles for the server (eg DNS or DHCP or FILE SERVER) – just deliver the server AS IT IS – but keep the OS cd in the tray
  3. All service packs and updates applied (except IE7)
  4. No Anti-Virus or any other program loaded

Installation requirements

  1. Two partitions on the hard disk (C & D)

Backup requirements

  1. 2 x 1 GB USB drives for backup

Router requirements

  1. Username and password for the router / or someone who can configure port forwarding / virtual server configuration
